The Learning Disabilities Association of Sudbury is Now Accepting Nominations

We are currently looking for the following positions to be filled:

Chair: To direct the board in governing and supporting the association, facilitate board meetings and represent the association at public functions. (2-Year Term)

Members at Large: To support the work of the board of directors with specialized skills and ensure the organization runs properly and efficiently. (1 Year Term)

This is a very exciting time for Sudbury and the Learning Disabilities Association of Ontario. The Sudbury community has had a Learning Disabilities Association Chapter as of June 11th, 2005, which provides services and supports to individuals with learning disabilities. Local Chapter development and growth will fill a big void in the north and will support the needs of many people with learning disabilities who need a strong voice in the community.

We are looking for dedicated individuals who would like to help continue to build this organization on the principles of partnerships, institutionalization, and the multiplier effect. Individuals are asked to bring a positive attitude, the ability to contribute in a team environment, and the desire to work together with a cooperative, supportive approach.

By our motto “the right to learn and the power to achieve” we note the importance of our children and youth with learning disabilities as being the main focus for our organization and for the work on the Board of Directors.
